We were told our English Lang GCSEs were often about sport or politics because boys often underperformed in that exam. I can’t even fathom the number of things wrong with this kind of thinking.

Obviously terrible, not surprising really, but I can’t remember the SATs actually having any questions like this? Not themed to sports, politics, or business definitely. When I took it though, it was back in the days of analogies and no essay writing and it was only worth 1600 points and not 2400, so maybe things have really changed. I also scored 100% on the verbal part so I should probably shut up and go away.

Here’s why the absolutely crazy over-the-top ridiculous shipping gets me really annoyed. Not only because it seems to be completely unnecessary for a pairing that is clearly supported by the show itself (sometimes I can see this kind of rabid frothing shipping with unlikely pairings; I hated Zutara but since it was NOT GOING TO HAPPEN EVER, reading into tiny moments and shit was like all their ship had to get excited over and so I understood when it happened. didn’t care, but understood) but because the creators of this show put so much love, work, dedication and research into the world, the bending (styles, lore, abilities, the evolution, how society views it and deals with it, just everything), the world design and evolution of it from the previous Avatar series, the character and clothing design, the infastructure, the political elements, even the currency/economy, BUT ALL THE FANS CAN FOCUS ON IS WHO IS GOING TO HOOK UP.

I’m sorry I really hate it. There is way more interesting stuff going on in this series than teenage hormones. It’s fine that it’s in the show, they are teenagers so whatever I can deal, but when the fans only seem to appreciate sexual tension and spend all this effort reading into every tiny interaction in order to SHIP IT HARRRRDER, I really feel bad for the creators. Nobody seems to care about the rest of the work they did to create this incredible in-depth world, or if they do care, it’s still secondary to OMG KORRA AND MAKO WORE THE SAME SCARF OVER THEIR MOUTHS IT’S INDIRECT KISSING DOKI DOKI DESU NE.
